League recap: Oklahoma Christian extends winning streak with victory over Luther

Oklahoma Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week by beating Luther, 58-15. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Oklahoma Christian took down the Lions 58-15 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin Brooks threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Braden Mikes was the best wideout in the league this week as Christian Heritage lost to Stroud. Mikes racked up eight receptions for 106 yards. Ryan Ross helped Christian Heritage's passing attack out by catching three balls for 53 yards.

Luke Frankfurt was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 80 yards on 10 carries as Derek Turner's team fell to the Tigers. Garrett Kilborn also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.

Colton Lindsey provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Christian Heritage fell to Stroud. He completed 27 passes for 291 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 45 yards.

The Saints' Brooks and Blake Barnes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 2115 yards this season, while Barnes, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 35 catches for 751 yards. Dibble's Tazden Jevons leads the league in rushing yards with 1554.

Steven Northerton has rushed for 993 yards on 138 carries so far this year.

Crooked Oak made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,003 from 10,238. The improvement came about via a 35-6 victory over Northeast last week.
