Basketball Recap: Cannon Falls' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cannon Falls waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Lourdes Eagles by a score of 74-65. Given the Bombers' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Eagles are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cannon Falls pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points over those games. As for Lourdes, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannon Falls will venture away from home to challenge Randolph at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cannon Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Randolph likes a good challenge. As for Lourdes, they will head out on the road to face off against Byron at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Byron will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Lourdes surely won't give up without a fight.
