Basketball Recap: Waco Christian Comes Up Short

Waco Christian and Still Creek Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Waco Christian had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Still Creek Christian Colts, falling 70-28. Having soared to a lofty 66 points in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Still Creek Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Walton, who went 10-for-23 en route to 26 points and six steals. Walton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Jeremy Reed was another key player, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Waco Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Still Creek Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.

Waco Christian has already played their next match, an 80-36 loss against Excel Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Still Creek Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-40 defeat against Grayson Christian on the 21st.
