Baseball Recap: Triton Hawks vs. Harnett Central Trojans
After only two runs in their last match, Triton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Harnett Central on Thursday. The Hawks walked away with a 12-7 win over the Trojans. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Trojans on their field since April 27, 2023.
Brayden Bates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Triton is undefeated when Bates posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Chase Sewell was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Triton: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
