Softball Recap: Palmetto Comes Up Short

Palmetto's tournament run continued when they took on Aynor on Friday. The Palmetto Mustangs came up short against the Aynor Blue Jackets, falling 9-1. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Palmetto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Lawter, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Palmetto and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Aynor, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmetto will welcome James F. Byrnes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aynor, they will be playing at home against West Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
