Carson Gumm gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in March of 2024 on Monday. He was dialed in as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He was up against Shadow Mountain and has quite the history against that squad, as he also had a great game the last time he faced them back in March of 2024. Gumm also tossed a walk, which is notable because Greenway is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise.

Gumm's effort led Greenway over Shadow Mountain and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long.
