Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Beats Wakefield Memorial for Their Third Straight Win

Essex Tech entered their tilt with Wakefield Memorial on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warriors 3-0.

Essex Tech was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-16.

Essex Tech had a senior duo take command as Isaac Mauricio had 26 digs and two aces and Barrett Cross had four digs and four aces. Those 26 digs set a new season-high mark for Mauricio. Dylan Krueger was another key player, getting 13 kills, three digs, and three aces.

Essex Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Essex Tech's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wakefield Memorial, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Essex Tech will be playing at home against Collegiate Charter School of Lowell at 6:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Wakefield Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
