Baseball Recap: Los Lunas Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Los Lunas dropped their record down to 15-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eldorado Golden Eagles. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Allen Galaviz was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonah Utash, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases.

As for Eldorado, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games.

On Eldorado's side, Brody Hoffman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Hoffman a new career-high.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Los Lunas will host Grants at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eldorado, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Santa Fe at 10:00 a.m.
