Baseball Game Preview: Van Vleck Leopards vs. Boling Bulldogs

Van Vleck hasn't had much luck against Boling recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Leopards will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Van Vleck's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Boling's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Van Vleck fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Brazos on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Boling sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Hempstead on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

The team relied heavily on Parks Macek, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jerrick Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Boling's record is now 10-12. As for Van Vleck, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Van Vleck suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Boling in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Leopards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
