Velva/Drake/Anamoose took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Kindred/Richland Colts 6-5. This was payback for the Aggies, who suffered an 11-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Quincy Bruner was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Clemens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Coming up, Velva/Drake/Anamoose is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Beulah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kindred/Richland, they will take on Bottineau at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
