Baseball Game Preview: Nottoway Cougars vs. Prince Edward County Eagles

The Nottoway Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Prince Edward County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Things were looking good for Nottoway after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Amelia County by a score of 8-7.

Bradley Hamilton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jadarrian Hendricks, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Prince Edward County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-4 to Randolph-Henry.

Prince Edward County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Walker is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Prince Edward County's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Nottoway, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Nottoway took their win against Prince Edward County in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
