Volleyball Recap: Vallejo Redhawks vs. Kennedy Eagles
Vallejo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kennedy Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Vallejo actually scored more points across those five sets (103-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 13-25, 20-25, 15-10.
Deandre Garza paced Vallejo's offense, picking up 18 kills. Garza got some help from Jerald Dalawampu and his 47 assists. Aaron Sanaxay controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Vallejo's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Kennedy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-14.
As of now, neither Vallejo nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
