Baseball Recap: Ben Davis Takes a Loss

Ben Davis had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-14 to make it four. They lost 18-6 to the Plainfield Quakers. The Giants were not able to make up for their defeat to the Quakers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Jace Allen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

As for Plainfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Plainfield's side, Jack Davis looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Davis posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Ty White was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Zach Rhoden, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and four runs.

Ben Davis didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-4 loss against North Central on the 12th. As for Plainfield, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Mooresville on the 12th.
