Basketball Recap: Mercer Island Piles Up the Points Against Kentlake

There's no place like home for Mercer Island, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Kentlake Falcons 59-25 on Wednesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-15.

Mercer Island's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Marsh, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elianna Weiss, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 16 points.

Mercer Island has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Kentlake, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Mercer Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-45 loss against Eastlake on the 10th. As for Kentlake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 38-22 win against Beamer on the 10th.
