Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Syracuse). They put the hurt on the Roy Royals with a sharp 23-4 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Titans as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kenlee Jensen and Avarie Floto dominated on the mound. Jensen pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Floto pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Floto has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Sackolwitz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Oaklee Derrickson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Syracuse always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Syracuse's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Roy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
Coming up, Syracuse will take on Riverton in a tournament on Saturday. As for Roy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bonneville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
