Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orangewood Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes 45-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-0.

Orangewood Christian had a senior duo take command as Jack Benson rushed for 134 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries and Tre Roach threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes. Benson's longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Tyler Glomski, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

One reason for the win was Orangewood Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Maxx Sorrentino was the leader with two. He also made ten total tackles, which is notable because Orangewood Christian is 3-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise. The Rams received some extra help from Eli Ryckman, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Orangewood Christian, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Grayson Hilinski, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Glomski.

The victory made it two in a row for Orangewood Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.5 points over those games. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Orangewood Christian is taking a road trip to take on Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they will host Santa Fe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
