Central Heights is a perfect 10-0 against Newton since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Central Heights Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Newton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Central Heights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Newton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Central Heights' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Huntington 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Red Devils since April 5, 2022.

Meanwhile, Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-2 to Pollok Central.

Newton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Smith's first of the season.

Central Heights has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Central Heights took their victory against Newton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Heights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
