Kerens came tearing into Thursday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Trinidad Trojans with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rylee Spivey made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madison Dunham was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jayden Brumit also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Kerens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Kerens pushed their record up to 17-8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Trinidad, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
