Soccer Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Lutheran-Northeast on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the victory. The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting six goals to the Lakeview Vikings' five. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lutheran-Northeast this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in April.

Kenzie Greisen and Genesis Enriquez scored both of Lakeview's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Lakeview has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Lakeview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Scotus on the 6th.
