Baseball Recap: Buhach Colony's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After losing to Hughson the last time they met, Buhach Colony decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Buhach Colony Thunder came out on top against the Hughson Huskies by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wesson Espinoza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Buhach Colony's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-2-1 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Quintana, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gionni Laplante, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3-1. As for Hughson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Coming up, Buhach Colony will face off against Ripon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hughson, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Golden Valley on the 4th.
