Football Game Preview: East Tigers vs. Beechcroft Cougars

East is 2-8 against Beechcroft since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will welcome the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. East will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, East strolled past Whetstone with points to spare, taking the game 29-12. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Braves are ranked 549th).

East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominique Edwards, who rushed for 65 yards and one TD, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Dior Hansard, who threw for 205 yards and one touchdown on only 17 passes.

Another reason for the win was East's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Marqwez Mattox was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Beechcroft played against Mifflin on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Beechcroft's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for East, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

East took their win against Beechcroft in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 50-25 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
