Baseball Recap: Poca Comes Up Short

Poca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Clay County Panthers, falling 21-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 on Thursday.

Poca saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Graley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Poca's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Clay County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poca will challenge South Charleston at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clay County, they will face off against St. Marys at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
