Softball Recap: James Madison's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

James Madison dropped their record down to 13-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 8-4 to the Battlefield Bobcats. The Warhawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in June of 2024.

As for Battlefield, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Battlefield's part, Olivia Morse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Mo Delman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Baird, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, James Madison will square off against Oakton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Battlefield, they will challenge Gainesville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
