Softball Recap: Clyde's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It's playoff time, and Clyde had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Blanco Panthers on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Kaycee Bingham made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Bingham was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Chasity Davis was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooklen Crider, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Clyde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Clyde moved to 18-8 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Blanco, they moved to 23-3 with that defeat, which also ended their 20-game winning streak.

Clyde will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
