Baseball Recap: Littleton Comes Up Short

Littleton dropped their record down to 12-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-4 to the Gorham Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 two weeks ago.

As for Gorham, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Gorham's part, Isaac Langlois was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts Langlois has posted since May 7th. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last ten games he's played.

In other batting news, Gorham let Cooper Ladd and Jack Saladino run wild. Ladd went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Saladino went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Ladd a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Corrigan, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

While Littleton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
