Basketball Recap: Brody Tyler Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

Providence Athletic Club picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They took down the Summit Christian Academy Eagles 67-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Providence Athletic Club got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brody Tyler out in front who posted 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Tyler a new career-high. Mark Lara was another key player, going 7-for-16 on his way to 19 points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Summit Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Courtland Reiter shot 54% from the field en route to 19 points and six boards. That was a full 39.6% of Summit Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row Reiter has had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Don Forrest, Jr., who scored ten points and seven rebounds.

Providence Athletic Club now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.

Providence Athletic Club didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-25 defeat against South Wake on the 6th. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 54-50 win against Cumberland Christian Home Educators on the 6th.
