Basketball Game Preview: Larkin Royals vs. West Aurora Blackhawks

The Larkin Royals will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the West Aurora Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Larkin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over Aurora East on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Royals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for West Aurora, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 victory over South Elgin on Tuesday.

Larkin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for West Aurora, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Larkin came up short against West Aurora in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, falling 66-56. Can Larkin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
