After a string of three wins, Platt's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maloney Spartans. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Platt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Straight, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. Braelen Silverio also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Platt's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Maloney, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Platt will host Wethersfield at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maloney, they will venture away from home to challenge Middletown at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans are facing the Blue Dragons at the right time seeing as the Blue Dragons are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
