Baseball Recap: Orrville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Orrville won against Waterloo on Wednesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Red Riders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Valley Forge Patriots an 8-0 shutout. The Red Riders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 12-3).

The victory was the third in a row for Orrville, bringing their record up to 7-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Valley Forge, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orrville will face off against Wooster at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Red Riders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Valley Forge, they will take on Normandy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
