Football Recap: Green Valley Falls Short Against Ranked Basic

On Saturday, Green Valley faced Basic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Green Valley Gators lost 20-0 to the Basic Wolves. If the Gators were looking for revenge after losing 33-20 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Green Valley still got an impressive performance from Aundrea Velez, who rushed for 92 yards on only ten carries.

Green Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Basic, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Green Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Legacy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy's defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so Green Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Basic, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 18-0 loss against Mojave on the 20th.
