The South Holt Knights will face off against East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] at TBD on Friday. South Holt has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 660 points over their last ten contests.
With a playoff game on the line, South Holt rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mound City and snuck past 58-56. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Meanwhile, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] faced West Nodaway in a battle between two of the state's top teams. East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] walked away with a 46-34 win over West Nodaway on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Cameron Brooks had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Brooks was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Another player making a difference was Blake Simmons, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown.
South Holt's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for South Holt against East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] in their previous meeting back in October as the team secured a 53-20 win.
