Softball Recap: Rio Vista Has No Trouble Against South Hills

Rio Vista was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against South Hills on Friday. The Rio Vista Eagles were the clear victor by an 18-5 margin over the South Hills Scorpions. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Keller Rodriguez and Ayden Greenslade did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4, while Greenslade went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave Greenslade a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Bailey Starosta, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Rio Vista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Rio Vista's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for South Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season.

Rio Vista will take on Frost at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Hills, they will welcome Trimble Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
