The Westview Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Lakeland Lakers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

While Westview's win against Lakewood Park Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 11-9. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Westview let Ava Gilbert and Myra Miller run wild. Gilbert got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Miller got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Gilbert has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Kaufman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Westview lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 9-2 to East Noble.

Lakeland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reahgan Adams, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Lakeland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484.
