Basketball Recap: Soroco Falls Despite Big Games from Kolbie Pierce and Mary Adrian

On Saturday, the Soroco Rams lost to the Grand Valley Cardinals on the road by a 48-30 margin. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Soroco had strong showings from Mary Adrian, who posted nine points and seven rebounds, and Kolbie Pierce, who had 11 points. That was a full 36.7% of Soroco's points, marking the seventh time in a row Pierce has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Grand Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Pittman, who made all 5 shots she took racking up 13 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Those 13 points gave Pittman a new career-high. Alexa DeMaio was another key player, as she made all 7 shots she took to post 18 points.

Soroco's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Grand Valley, their record now sits at 7-15.
