Basketball Game Preview: New Caney Eagles vs. Cleveland Indians

The New Caney Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Cleveland Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Caney is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against The Woodlands on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. New Caney took a blow against The Woodlands, falling 58-25. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Cleveland lost to College Park on the road by a 62-45 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1008th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 130th).

Cleveland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season. As for New Caney, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-22.

New Caney couldn't quite finish off Cleveland in their previous matchup back in January and fell 51-48. Can New Caney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
