Basketball Recap: Glenmora Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Glenmora hadn't done well against Rapides recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Glenmora Wildcats walked away with a 51-42 victory over the Rapides Mustangs. That's the two time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-57 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Rapides still got an impressive performance from Zayveian Johnson, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 22 points and four steals. That was a full 52.4% of Rapides' points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Karion Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

The win (which was Glenmora's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Rapides, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Glenmora will face off against Plainview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainview will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Glenmora surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rapides, they will square off against Marksville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marksville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Rapides likes a good challenge.
