Baseball Game Preview: Westover Wolverines vs. Overhills Jaguars

Westover is 0-10 against Overhills since April of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Wolverines will square off against the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Westover has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westover is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 25-0 to Overhills.

For Overhills' part, Jordan Frink was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Frink has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Overhills got a massive performance out of Kolt Berry, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Berry has posted since back in March of 2024. Houston Poole was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Overhills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Overhills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Westover, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
