Football Recap: Lavergne Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

LaVergne extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Trinity Ryan. The Wolverines took down the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks 20-6 on Thursday for which the team can thank Ryan, who rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 303 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 87.5% of her passes. She has become a key player for LaVergne: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

LaVergne's leading receiver Ace Cistrunk was Ryan's top target yet again, picking up 98 receiving yards and one score. Cistrunk didn't just play on offense: she also made four total tackles and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception.

LaVergne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cistrunk, Makayla Brooks, and Jada Starnes picked up one apiece. Starnes' receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked her third straight game with at least 130 receiving yards.

LaVergne's win bumped their record up to 5-3.

As of now, neither they nor Stewarts Creek have any future games scheduled.
