Softball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 3-12. They lost 16-1 to the Culver Community Cavaliers. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Triton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eleanor Hernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

As for Culver Community, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

On Culver Community's side, Aiden Molebash made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Molebash has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Abigayle Zehner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Milam, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Triton will head out to face off against North Judson-San Pierre at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluejays have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Culver Community, they will square off against Hebron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.79 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
