Baseball Recap: Pontiac Academy for Excellence Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Pontiac Academy for Excellence was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 10-2 to the Pontiac Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-12 back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Pontiac Academy for Excellence and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.0 runs this season. As for Pontiac, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Pontiac Academy for Excellence will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Detroit Delta Prep Academy for Social Justice at 10:00 a.m. on May 11. As for Pontiac, they will be playing at home against Pershing at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
