Baseball Recap: Mcclintock Sets Scoring Season-High Against Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McClintock). They put the hurt on the Central Bobcats with a sharp 34-0 victory on Monday. With that win, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Elias Baldwin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Dallon Schmidt was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Lucas Wisehart was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

McClintock hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

McClintock has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Central, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McClintock beat the Bobcats by a score of 13-0 on Wednesday.
