Softball Recap: Benet Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Benet Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Saint Viator Lions with a sharp 13-3 win on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Redwings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hannah Baer was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Gianna Cunningham was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Benet Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Benet Academy pushed their record up to 8-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Saint Viator, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
