Game recap: Wilson high school football team beats North Myrtle Beach in back-and-forth affair

Wilson (Florence, S.C.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it scored a touchdown with with less than a minute remaining in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over North Myrtle Beach (Little River, S.C.) 17-13.

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Tigers led 14-13 at the half.

The Chiefs' Delonzo Williams played well. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns.

Wilson had struggled this season, allowing 33.6 points per game.

A 27-10 Wilson victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.



The victory was a step in the right direction for the Florence school, which was coming off a 42-21 defeat at the hands of St. James in its previous game.

Wilson (3-5) will play a AAA Region VII game against Socastee next week, while North Myrtle Beach (5-4) will take on St. James also in a AAA Region VII game.
