Basketball Recap: Genesis Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Genesis Prep Academy suffered their biggest loss since January 18th on Thursday. They lost 94-74 to the Lakeside Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-56 back in December of 2024.

Lakeside was led to victory by Tyson Charley and Hallah Peone. Charley almost dropped a triple-double with 38 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists, while Peone went 13-for-21 on his way to 32 points along with eight assists and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Charley now owns an excellent 40.8% three-point shooting accuracy. Preston SpottedHorse was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight assists and four steals.

Genesis Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Lakeside, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Genesis Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-71 win against Coeur du Christ Academy on the 14th. As for Lakeside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-52 victory against Clark Fork on the 17th.
