Volleyball Recap: Union Spartans vs. Pender Patriots
Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Pender Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-14.
Leading Pender to victory were Victoria Wells and Charleigh Rivenbark. Wells had ten kills and three aces, while Rivenbark had seven digs and three aces. What's more, Wells posted two digs, the most she's had since back in August.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pender, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will challenge East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pender, they will venture away from home to face off against North Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
