Soccer Game Preview: Pacific Grove vs. St. Francis

The Pacific Grove Breakers will square off against the St. Francis Sharks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pacific Grove is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Pacific Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Oakwood a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. Even though the Breakers got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( James Lowen was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Pacific Grove hit Oakwood with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Victor Gaspar Ojeda (2), Yeshua Erickson, and Lowen.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, St. Francis was forced to settle for a draw. They and Anzar finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw on Friday.

Pacific Grove's win bumped their record up to 3-4-2. With that draw, St. Francis' record moves to 0-1-1.

Pacific Grove beat St. Francis by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Pacific Grove repeat their success, or does St. Francis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
