Recap: Dunedin Falcons vs. Sports Leadership & Management Spartans
The Dunedin Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Sports Leadership & Management 64-25 at home. The win was just what Dunedin needed coming off of a 79-51 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Haylee Dones, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Dunedin's points. Another player making a difference was Victoria Kabamba, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie San Martin, who scored six points along with two steals. Ayane Washington was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Dunedin's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Sports Leadership & Management, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Dunedin will face off against Gibbs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dunedin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Gibbs is ranked 129th). As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will take on Foundation Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
