Basketball Recap: Solon Takes a Loss

If Solon was feeling good fresh off their 51-29 takedown of North Royalton last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Solon Comets were dealt a 76-40 defeat at the hands of the Twinsburg Tigers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Tigers are ranked 94th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Twinsburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaci Hutton, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 17 points and five steals. That's the most steals Hutton has posted since back in December of 2023. Taylor Dye was another key player, going 8 of 11 on her way to 18 points and four steals.

Solon's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Twinsburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Solon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-35 defeat against Brecksville-Broadview Heights on the 13th. As for Twinsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-26 victory against North Royalton on the 13th.
