Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Has No Trouble Against Bracken County

Pendleton County hadn't done well against Bracken County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Pendleton County blew past Bracken County 27-15. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Cole Harlow made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his seven plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Frisch, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Miles, who scored a run while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

Pendleton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .554. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pendleton County's record is now 3-1-1. As for Bracken County, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pendleton County Wildcats face off against Cooper Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bracken County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m.
