Preview: Noxubee County Tigers vs. Neshoba Central Rockets
Noxubee County is 0-8 against Neshoba Central since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Noxubee County Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Neshoba Central Rockets at 6:00 p.m.
Noxubee County couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kosciusko last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Neshoba Central had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 61-26 win over Theodore on the road. The result was nothing new for Neshoba Central, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Neshoba Central found their leader in underclassman Kyli Truss, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zharia Leflore, who scored 11 points.
Noxubee County's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Neshoba Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Noxubee County was taken down by Neshoba Central 94-53 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Noxubee County, Hama'ya Fielder (who scored 21 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
